For sale is a terrific antique dated 1818 primitive folk art washing bat or paddle that I acquired at an antique market in Columbus, Ohio. It is painted green and red, and has the carved initials "AMS", as well as a pinwheel design, and diamonds at the top, as well as on the sides. The top of the handle is circular, and is divided into 4 sections, and the bottom has simple carved and painted lines. The piece measures about 15" long and 7 3/4" wide at the bottom, and is in nice, but antique condition, with wear and worm holes. In addition, the bottom has had some restoration. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a fabulous addition to your primitive decor!
