This is an absolutely stunning French Art Deco Sculpture dating back to the 1920's. While the dog was made out of metal (most likely spelter), the base was made out of three different kinds of marble (red, black and green) . The sculpture of the German Shepard is fairly large and very impressive. The Dog is captured in a laying position ready to play with its owner. He is conducted in a very realistic. It is not signed but was most likely designed after a design of Pierre Jules Mene (France, 1810-1879), one of the great Animalier Sculptors. The base features a Art Deco Design - classy and timeless.
Condition: In very good condition. Age consistent wear which goes well with the Patina. (PLEASE SEE PHOTOS)
Measurements: circa 15 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch
