NASON & COMPANY OF MURANO, VENICE, ITALY THAT DISPLAYS A SEATED CAT WITH ITS HEAD TURNED BACKWARDS FROM ITS FRONT FEET AND INTERNALLY DECORATED WITH GRAY-BLACK FEATHERY SMOKE-LIKE PLUMES BY A TECHNIQUE KNOWN AS “FUMATO”!

Dimensions: This seated cat measures approximately five and one quarter inches (5 1/4”) in height, two and one half inches (2 1/2”) across from the backside base to the front of the cat’s paws, by one and three quarters (1 3/4”) in width at its widest point.

Although unsigned, this seated cat would originally have had a label for V. Nason & Co. – which has since been removed. There are several examples of this seated cat with its head turned backwards and different internal decorations shown on the Internet that still retain their original V. Nason & Co. labels. And this includes one on Ruby Lane (simply search for Nason cat).

Condition: Excellent and clean condition – absolutely beautiful! For clarification, there is a small surface hole of the underside cut and polished bottom but this is original to the making process.
