Vintage Steuben Art Glass Crystal American Eagle Figurine 8304 - image 1 of 12

This fabulous vintage signed Steuben art glass American Eagle was designed by Donald Pollard. This figural eagle was designed by Donald Pollard in 1975, just before the American Bicentennial. Listed in the Steuben catalog as item #8304, this item currently retails in the Corning Museum of Glass Shop for $1000. As seen in the accompanying photos, the eagle has a dramatic appearance and captures the eagle with its neck lifted and head looking up and off to the right. The bird's right leg is extended in front of its body and its wings are partially unfolded as if about to take flight. Pollard has paid particular attention to depicting the eagle's wings, creating a series of angles that capture and reflect light, emphasizing the liquid quality of the glass.

The eagle is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. As a vintage item, the piece shows signs of use consisting of some light scratches on the base related to display which are mentioned for accuracy. The 2lb 15oz piece stands 4.75" tall, is 3.5" wide and 5.25" deep. The base is signed "Steuben" in diamond point script.

Vintage pieces produced by Steuben have become collector's items and will likely appreciate in value as stock on the secondary market becomes more difficult to obtain. This listing provides a great opportunity to enhance your decor with a lovely and authentic Steuben work of art.
