Framed .Print of photo of Pride of Baltimore. Was built as an authentic reproduction of an early 19th century square topsail schooner; first one built in Baltimore in 150 years.Construction began 1976, launched 1977, was lost in a hurricane. This is a very low freeboard hull design, unlike the full hull square rigged cargo ships on my other ads. Very fast, had raked masts, built for speed, not cargo carrying capacity. Huge sail area, Gaff rig mainsail and foresail and main topsail, with square fore topsail. Appears to also carry a staysail in addition to square Main square topsail. Main boom boom extends far beyond stern. Also has a huge bowsprit with 3 jibs, a martingale or dolphin striker below it.. Total sail area was over 9,000 square feet. These Were successfully used as privateers , to capture British vessels in the War of 1812. Framed but never had glass.Needs minor cleaning Frame is approximately 24 by 20 inches. very impressive with very accurate details, unlike some paintings.
