This cast iron doorstop design was originally created by Grace Drayton for Hubley. It is her Dolly Dimple design. The Hubley version of this doorstop was often signed with a copyright symbol and Grace Drayton's signature, near the bottom, on the back & was numbered 45. The doorstop we have here is numbered 38 which, according to the online doorstop identification website, is the number of Albany Foundry's Dolly Dimple. The paint on this doorstop is original. There is touch up paint on the leg and possibly in other spots. The paint has some chipping and crazing in spots but is mostly intact and still attractive. Please enlarge the photos and review them closely. This nice doorstop by an iconic cartoonist would be a great addition to a cast iron or doorstop collection.
This Dolly Dimple goes great with the Bobby Blake in our last listing. If interested in both let us know and we will check the price for combined shipping to your zipcode.
