Drat, this item is SOLD
This cast iron bootjack dates to the last quarter of the 19th century. It has a nice scroll design. The surface has an attractive aged patina with minor surface oxidation and/or dirt in the crevices. The 8th, 9th, & 10th pictures show the middle of the bootjack which has a rough spot where the top and bottom meet. I examined the spot closely and I'm about 85-95 percent certain it was cast this way and is not a repair. This antique bootjack is an attractive and useful piece to use and display in an entryway or on a front porch.
