This cast iron piece is a single bookend in Hubley's sun bonnet girl design. These sun bonnet girls were made by multiple foundries in both bookend and doorstop sizes. There is a worn number 72 on the back of this girl which marks her as having been made by Hubley. She is wearing an old repaint mostly green with beige for the legs and arm. The green paint is on the legs as well. This original sun bonnet girl was made between the 1920's and early 1940's. There are no chips, cracks or breaks in the iron. This little lady would be fun to set amongst the plants in a sun room and she would love to watch over your flowers.
