A bright Asian oil on canvas in modest impasto, with a Southeast Asian southern junk boat and fog-shrouded mountain backdrop. Artist signed but we have been unable to identify what looks like "L. Tang." Measuring 24" x 36" sight and 31.5" x 43" in double wood frame with some gilding, linen matte, and in excellent condition. Junk ships were predominantly Chinese river and coastal ships with notable sail rigging, though southern junk ships were adapted by other Southeast Asian countries, including Japan, and frequently used for island trade.
