Here we have a beautiful, hand-blown Sulphide Glass paperweight depicting the late, great, former President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt. This awesome, hefty piece was designed and worked by Cristal D'Albret, a French Crystal manufacturer that made modern sulphides starting in 1967 with a sulphide paperweight of Christopher Columbus. Glass sulphides, also called Cameo Incrustations, are opaque, usually white, medallions or figurines encased in glass and used to decorate clear glass objects. They often appear on the sides of decanters, jugs, bottles and tumblers, and they are a very popular form of paperweight decoration

The paperweight you see here is in excellent condition. The cut glass is accented with a purple surface that draws the eyes in. The base is stamped, "CR. ALBRET - FRANCE". Add it to your cart today, before it's gone!
