Here we have an awesome Orthoceras Fossil Pendant. The ancient Orthoceras fossil is held in place by the precise sterling bezel. The fossil has been hand-polished to reveal a glossy sheen. Orthoceras was an ancient cephalopod that lived about 370 million years ago. The name means straight horn, referring to the characteristic long, straight, conical shell. The preserved shell is all that remains of this ancestor of our modern-day squid.
This pendant is in perfect condition, with no damage to the Fossil or metal at all. Add it to your collection today! The back of the pendant bail is stamped, "925".
This Sterling Silver Jewelry is from a Vintage line of Jewelry we wholesaled during the 1990s at various wholesale jewelry and gem shows. We have several kilos in many styles and gem varieties to offer. Please check our other listings and check back often to see our shop's new additions.
To preserve the natural patina often found on our Vintage Jewelry, we choose not to polish it. Most collectors seek and cherish a patina on their Vintage Jewelry. Since these items are vintage, they may have a wonderfully aged patina and are not meant or expected to look brand new. Oftentimes, we may highlight the high spots on our Vintage Jewelry for better photography using a silver cleaning cloth.
