The cast iron match safe has a unique design. The bottom has a container with a hinged lid for box matches. The top is an open tray to put single matches. The match safe is not marked and dates to the early 1900s. The aged patina is wonderful. The match safe was made with a golden paint. Over time the paint and fade into an interesting patina. There is a bit of rust on the underside of the lid. The match safe is in good vintage condition. Take a moment and review the photographs, remember you can zoom in to take a closer look to determine the condition for yourself.
The match safe is 7 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide. This will look nice mounted by a fireplace or stove. Enjoy!
