This is a nice late 1800s yellow spongeware pitcher. There is a flower design under the glaze but as with most spongeware it is hard to see the exact design due to the heavy glaze. The pitcher is small size and was probably used for milk. The pitcher is in good condition and is not chipped. There are a firing cracks in the handle and along the rim from the original manufacturing of the pitcher. There is also crazing which is always found in early spongeware. The pitcher is 6 inches tall with a base diameter of 4 ¼ inches. This is a very nice antique spongeware pitcher. Enjoy!
