This is a decorative silver or silvered metal chatelaine plaque and hook with an attached ring at the bottom – this could well have been for keys or the attachment of a longer chain for a fan or other fashion accessory such as a purse. On the back of the waist hook is an apparent mark, but this is not decipherable. The patterning of the front is an intricate design (see image). The condition is very good for age. This would be a most useful piece from which to hang your keys in an attractive manner, or to add to a collection of fashion accessories or chatelaines.
