This is a pretty Victorian brooch sash pin in the form of a buckle with decorative hammered work and intricate repousse flowers, buds and leaves. These were apparently used to secure a sash often at the lady’s hip emulating a style favoured by Queen Victoria. It closes with a secure working 'C' clasp and the condition is very good for age.
