This is a vintage advertising paperweight from The Independent Stove Co. Owosso, Mich. The handsome cast iron alligator is porcelain enameled in brown.

Precise age is unknown but the Independent Stove Company was in business in Owosso from 1908 to 1949, when it was sold to the Prizer Painter Stove Company of Pennsylvania.

Measurements: approx 5-5/8” long x 1-7/8” wide across the front feet x almost 1” at the tallest.

Very good condition. A hint of minor enamel wear on the tips of his toes on one foot.
