Nice old cast iron Fort Snelling (in Hennepin, Minnesota) paperweight in the form of an outpost. The paperweight depicts the old wooden fort that predated the Civil War structure, is three dimensional (not a flat back) and is made of cast iron with a gilt old gold finish. The paperweight measures 2" by 2" and stands 2 1/4" tall, it is very solid and thickly cast, weighing nearly 3/4 of a pound. I estimate the date to be from around the late 1930's, it is in excellent condition for the age, and is a nice quality highly detailed casting, see photos as part of the description. Great little addition to a collection of military items, or put on you desk as a functional and attractive talking point.
