A beautiful handmade ladle with a hammered ‘bowl’ of wrought iron and a solid brass handle. The slightly curved brass handle has a flattened portion at the top (away from the bowl) for best grip. The rest of the handle is tightly rolled and riveted to the bowl. The handle end is finished with a hang hole.
The ladle bowl is slightly oval with deep sides and has a beautiful hammered surface inside and out. This piece dates to the 1920s.
Measures 14 inches long total length. Handle is 11-1/4 inches long. Ladle bowl is 3-3/4 inches wide x 3-1/4 inches front to back. It is 1-1/2 inches deep with 5 oz capacity to rim.
Well designed and well made. It is nicely balanced and had great age patina. Solid and sturdy throughout. Fully functional.
This is a great looking antique piece which would make a great addition to any collection.
