Here is a Boyds Collection ornament called "Lars ... Ski, Ski, Ski" that features a colorful snowman attempting to ski on a large frosty snowball. A banner runs along the snowball that is accented with sparkling glitter. This ornament was part of the Folkstone Series. The ornament was released in 1998 and was retired the next year.
The Snowman ornament is hand numbered on the bottom and this one is a 1E (First Edition), number 325. A 1E or First Edition in Boyds Bears is highly sought after. Serious collectors of Boyds items like to look for the first editions, as they are more difficult to find.
The ornament has a dark blue ribbon hanger, and is made of hand painted resin. Because it has a flat bottom, it will sit easily on a shelf or in a grouping of snowmen. "Lars" is in perfect condition, never displayed, and will come in the original Boyds box, with the certificate of authenticity. The maroon colored box he is packed in does show some shelf wear around the edges.
